The continual challenge with explainer videos is that it's difficult to explain complex ideas in simple ways. When the script becomes jumbled with jargon, the product that the video is trying to promote gets lost and so does the audience. With this piece, I wanted to see if I could make a regular pencil seem interesting and important.
I wrote one version of the script, thought it was good, and Juan Garcia pushed me to make it better. He pitched the concept for what would become the final script and helped me refine my writing. I'm happy with what we came up with!
I used Cinema 4D and Octane but switched to Redshift part way through the project because it ended up being faster and giving me better results.
